She was raised on a small farm near Roundway, Mississippi where the family raised cotton. In 1952, the family moved to Hawthorne, CA, and Pauline worked for her brother Jim Wedworth who owned Phil's Bike Shop, which started her 30 year career in the Schwinn Bicycle business. Ultimately, Troy Sr and Pauline owned three bicycle shops and Pauline was active in the Local Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, and the Business and Professional Women's Club. Troy and Pauline retired to the Kern Valley in 1986.
Pauline was active in multiple community events and was instrumental in establishing the Skilled Nursing Center in the Kern River Valley. She was an active volunteer for the Historical Society, the Hospital Auxiliary, and started a chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. During her free time, she resumed writing poetry, delighting her friends in the Kern Valley and receiving letters of appreciation from US Presidents Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and Barrack Obama. The pinnacle came when her work was published in "Poets of the Twentieth Century."
Pauline was always there to help her family and friends and welcomed everyone to join her extended family. She was a very special person and will be missed by everyone who knew her..
