Dr. Thomas C. Longino was married to Morton (Campbell) Longino, who was the daughter of J.S. Campbell.
He was a very successful physician after graduating from Southern Medical College of Atlanta in 1895.
Shortly after finishing his college education, Dr. Longino joined the U.S. Army and served in the Spanish-American war as an assistant surgeon.
After the war, Dr. Longino located in Galveston, Texas and survived the Great Storm of 1900 that destroyed most of the city of Galveston. It was during his efforts to save victims of the tidal wave that he met his wife, Morton Campbell who was a prominent young woman of that city.
Dr. Longino moved to the city of Atlanta after the storm and became one of the city's foremost physicians.
Dr. Longino died at the young age of 37 years old at his home, 61 Park Street, West End after being sick for several months. He left behind his wife, Morton, and a son, Thomas C. Longino, Jr., and his parents, Dr. and Mrs. T.D. Longino of Atlanta.
