Donald F. Dening, 75, of 5594 Water St., was stricken at his home and died Monday at Lewis County General Hospital.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. David E. Wisniewski, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery with full military honors. Watertown Daily Times, January 23, 1996

LOWVILLE - Donald F. Dening, 75, of 5594 Water St., Lowville was stricken at his home and died Monday, Jan. 22, at Lewis County General Hospital.
The funeral Mass was Thursday, Jan. 25, at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. David E. Wisniewski, pastor, officiating. Spring burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery with full military honors.
Virkler - Percoski Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to Lowville Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of one's choice.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; three sons, Lawrence D., Tappahannouk, VA, Richard T. and Alan J., both of Lowville; a brother, Maurice Murphy, Lowville; a sister, Muriel Meiss, Lowville; an aunt; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two brothers, Richard and Robert, Sr., died before him.
Mr. Dening was a member of the Lewis County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6912, the Lowville Benevolent Protective Order of the Elk Lodge 1605 and a member and past officer of the Lowville Volunteer Fire Department.
Born on August 1, 1920, in Montague, a son of Daniel and Lena Murphy Dening, he graduated from Lowville Free Academy. He served in the Army from 1945 to 1946 and was stationed in Japan.
He married Kathleen A. Mahoney on Feb. 12, 1945, in St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. George Murray officiating.
Mr. Dening was a shop foreman for J.H. Ross Farm Implements during the1950s and a mechanic for Frank Rupert Farm machinery in the 1960s. He was then a mechanic with Lowville Farmers Co-op, retiring in 1986 as head of the small-engine shop.
A communicant of St, Peter's Church, he was also founder and a member of the Hoganville Hunting Club. Lowville Journal and Republican, Wednesday, January 31, 1996
