Deceased Name: ALICE KRISTINE GRICE
A memorial service for Alice Kristine Grice, a Northeast Portland resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Ross Hollywood Chapel. Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery.
Mrs. Grice died Friday in a Portland foster care home of neurological and respiratory problems. She was 77. She was born Sept. 21, 1914, in Portland and was a lifelong resident of the city. During the 1930s, she worked in the bookkeeping departments for Montgomery Ward & Co. and for Sears Roebuck & Co. Mrs. Grice was a home-maker. Her first husband, John E. Overland, died in 1967.
She had been a statistician for Western Wood, a newsletter for the wood industry, from 1968 until 1973. She and her husband, Jean P. Grice, owned and operated Mail Me Monday, a Portland accounting business, for about 11 years until their retirement in 1985. Mrs. Grice was a member of the First Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Her husband died in 1986.
Survivors include her son, James E. Overland of Seattle; and a sister, Margaret Koski of Portland.
