---Bryan was a life long resident of Brown Co. He was survied by his brother Harvey Harris and, Louis Harriss both of Brownwood and his two sisters Nora Harriss [Shannon] and Nan Harriss [Wright] of Gatesville, Texas
---Bryan (Slim) Harriss married May Beryl Garms on Jan 27, 1923. they had one daughter, Nancy Alwilda Harris. Slim played Major League Baseball from 1920 to 1928 as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics and Boston Red Sox. He was credited with 19 wins in 1925 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He gave up 3 HR to Babe Ruth the year the "Babe" got 60 HR's. Bryan had attended Howard Payne Academy where he was noticed by pro-scouts. He was 6' 6" tall.
Aftr his baseball years he farmed and ranched plus served as a Brown County Commissioner From 1946 until 1958. The High School baseball field in Bangs is named for him. See the following for some details of his MLB career.
