Funeral services for R.S. Cummings, 88, of Fort Valley, will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Goddard – McLeighton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Cummings passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at his residence. He was a World War II Veteran having served in Japan in the U.S. Army. He was owner and operator of R.S. Cummings Logging Company for 65 years and he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Brooks Cummings.
