Ottie LaVelle Jackson McWherter, 88, of Union City, formerly of Palmersville, died Sept. 16, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bowlin Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Mallonee and Bro. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial was in Palmersville Cemetery.
Greg McWherter, Ryon McWherter, Barry McWherter, Caden McWherter, Trent Duncan and Don Linson served as pallbearers.
Mrs. McWherter was born in Henry County, the daughter of the late Burnard and Mattie (Jackson) Jackson. She was a homemaker and a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Daniel McWherter of Union City, Wayne McWherter of Sharpsburg, Ga., and Gary McWherter of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, Burnard Jackson Jr. of Paris; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Launis W. McWherter.
