Irene was my father's mother. I met my grandma Irene once when I was 5 years old in Omaha, Nebraska.
Irene Hecht, was born in Puerto Rico, in 1903, and met my grandfather Domingo Hecht, and they were married. Irene & Domingo, moved to Brooklyn New York, in the 1930s and they had 3 sons Daniel, Martin, and Carlos my father.
Sometime during the early 1960s Irene & Domingo, retired and moved to Miami Springs and bought a house.
My grandmother Irene was married prior to my grandfather Domingo. She had 2 children Francisco Velez, (b. 1924, in Porto Rico), and Hilda Velez, (b. October 6, 1922, in New York, d. April 1, 2009, in Miami, Florida).
My cousin Janine Hecht, and my Aunt Carol, Janine's mom provided most of the Hecht photos in the Hecht memorials.
