Rev. R. D. Pittman
Rev. Robert D. Pittman, local representative of the National Beneficial association and residing at 1480 Washington avenue, died at the Altoona hospital yesterday morning, death being caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.
He was born at Enfield, NC, on February 25, and entered the ministry in early manhood, serving as pastor in a Baptist church at Waverly, VA, for seven years. He came to Altoona twelve years ago.
He was married on October 23, 1895, to Florence Smith who survives with the following children; Robert D., Amy V., Charles, William, Clement R., Milford M., all at home and Everett A., of New York.
He was a member of the Wendal Phillips lodge of Odd Fellows and the Mt. Zion Baptist church of this city. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Mt. Zion Baptist church.
Interment will be made in the Eastern Light cemetery. Remains may be viewed at Lafferty and Tobias parlors until time of funeral.
