KEWANEE, IL - Helen Heaton, 92, of Genoa City, Wisconsin and formerly of Kewanee died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Genoa City.
Helen was born February 28, 1920 in rural Toulon the daughter of Robert and Anna (McWilliam) Armstrong. Helen married Irvin C. Heaton on February 3, 1939 at her parent's home. The couple farmed in Stark County for many years. They retired in 1979 and moved to Kewanee.
Irvin preceded her in death on February 25, 2010.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son Leon, two brothers, John Armstrong and Paul Armstrong and two sisters Esther Bannewatt and Ruth Armstrong.
Surviving is a daughter Gloria A. Schuren of Genoa City, a granddaughter Heidi Crow of Genoa City and three great grandchildren Kara Crow and Jonathan and Holly Green.
Helen was a long time member of the Elmira Presbyterian Church. She will be remembered for baking wedding cakes and her love of travel and fishing trips to Minnesota.
Burial will be in the Elmira Cemetery.
The Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee, Il. is in charge of arrangements.
