CALDWELL — Services for Elizabeth Lucy Balcom, who died at a Nampa hospital Thursday, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic church in Caldwell. The Rev. Clement Mentzer, S. M., of Nampa will officiate. The Rosary will be recited at Peckham Dakan chapel Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be at Canyon Hill.
She was born in Dallas, Texas, July 6, 1875, and went to Cheyenne, Wyo., with her family in a covered wagon when she was eight years old. They located near Cambridge, Idaho, the next year. She was married in Caldwell when she was 15 years old to Frank Baltzor June 19, 1890. They later went to Cowcreek near Jordan Valley and homesteaded and also resided near Shayville, Ore. She was married to Alva Balcom in Caldwell in 1922 and she then resided in Wilder for three years and later moved to Caldwell where she made her home for 30 years. She was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ida Thurman of New Meadows, Idaho; Mrs. Alice Webster of Seattle; Mrs. Ava Diggins of Elgin, Ore., and Mrs. Inez Musser of Boise; three sons, Herbert Ezra Baltzor of Nampa and Frank and Tod Baltzor of Jordan Valley; a brother, John Webb of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Roberts of Pasadena, Calif.; 38 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
