Laurel Grove Confederate Memorial
Birth: unknown
Death: unknown

The sculpture known as "Silence", was originally part of a Confederate memorial erected in Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia in 1875. In 1878, the sculpture was relocated to the Laurel Grove Cemetery to mark the graves of soldiers killed at the Battle of Gettysburg. The figure stands in the middle of Soldier's Circle, a grassy knoll with the remains of twelve Confederate soldiers. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
