He was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Center Township, the son of the late Charles M. Brown Sr. and Clara (Whitmire) Brown.
He was a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 249.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family, especially at camp. He had worked at Hilliard Mining, Pullman and Adobe Mining.
Surviving are his wife, Laura "Jean" (Wise) Brown, who he married Sept. 16, 1950; two daughters, Peggy (Gary) Baptiste of Butler and Kim (Bob) Gagen of Butler; son, Kent (Lexie) Brown of Meadville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Dallos of Butler and Janice (Dan) Noblit of Lansdale.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debby Chuba; a grandson, Drew Chuba; and a brother, Richard Brown.
BROWN - Friends of Charles M. Brown Jr. of Butler, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Services will be held at the Unionville Presbyterian Church, 1114 Sunset Drive, Butler, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with her pastor, the Rev. Matt Kail, officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
Military honors will be given by VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778 at the church.
