Max Morton, 82, died Jan. 9, 2005, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Lucerne, the son of Zalmon H. and Myrtle Hazel Horton Morton. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, he was a retired machinist and welder for Mega Manufacturing.
He belonged to Victorious Life Church, Hutchinson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On Aug. 26, 1961, he married Helen DeWater in Wichita. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons; four daughters; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Eddie and Kenneth; three daughters, Marsha Burns, Joanna Stephenson and Donna Morton; two brothers, Von Leroy and Don; and two sisters, Erva Taylor and Thelma Housted.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Victorious Life Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor James Frances presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
Memorials may be sent to American Heart Association or Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the funeral home, 528 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
