Mervin W. Jordan, 101, Covode, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1911, in Covode, a son of the late John and Minnie (Wachob) Jordan.
On March 3, 1941, he married Margaret (States) Jordan, who survives.
He was a member of the Covode United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed farming, dogs, family, growing zinnias and gardening.
He was a truck driver for many different employers and companies.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Ray A. Jordan and wife Phyllis of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Karen Blose and husband David of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clair, Verner and Dee Jordan; and five sisters, Mary Smith, Gladys Kerr, Alice Stiver, Minie Blose and Velma Richards.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating.
Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Jordan, to the charity of the donor’s choice.
