Miss Beatrice Louisa Beyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
L. Beyer, Amsterdam R. D. 2, became the bride of Robert Jonas Persons, son of Mr. nnd Mrs. Charles Dow Persons, Sr., Amsterdam R. D. 2, Saturday at 9 A. M. at a nuptial mass In S t Mary's Church, this city. The Rev. Harvey J. Thompson performed the ceremony. Mr. Beyer gave his daughter in marriage. The bride had as maid of honor the bridegroom's sister, Miss Mary Anna Persons, Amsterdam R. D. 2. The best man was Harlan David Persons, Amsterdam R. D. 2, brother of the bridegroom.
As Professor James F. Gilmore played the "Bridal Chorus" from "lohengrin" Wagner The bridal party approached the altar. The bride wore a blue wool suit with wine accessories and corsage of white rosebuds. The maid of honor's dress was of wine wool crepe and her hat was of wine velvet. She wore a corsage of tea colored rosebuds. The organ recessional was the "Wedding March" from Mendelssohn's "Midsummer Night's Dream."
The bride's mother was attired in a black crepe dress with black hat while the bridegroom's mother wore a blue dress and blue hat. Both mothers had corsages of pink gladioli florets.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, where a wedding luncheon also was served. When the bride and bridegroom left for a wedding trip to the New England States, the bride wore for traveling a bide suit with blue coat and wine accessories. Mr. and Mrs. Persons will be at home after October 14 in a newly furnished home on Amsterdam R. D. 2. The bridegroom attended St. Mary's Institute, this city, and follows agricultural pursuits.
Guests from out of town at the wedding were Mrs. Donald Rogeras, Utlca, and Private Donald Persons, Fort Jay, Governors Island. [Published in the "Evening Recorder," Amsterdam, New York, Monday, October 13, 1941.]
