Esther Jones moved with her parents from Syracuse, New York to Sheboygan County about 1845, when she was 8 years old.
Esther married Oscar A Treadwell, whose parents, Alanson Treadwell and Sally Anthony, had also moved from New York to Sheboygan County, on October 9, 1858 in Plymouth.
Death certificates show the couple is buried in Union Cemetery, but there are no cemetery records indicating they were buried here and no gravestones for them can be found. (Research by Marlin Miller.)

The funeral of Mrs. Esther Treadwell, widow of Oscar Treadwell, who died of old age early Sunday morning, March 3, at the home of their son William, will be held from the farm home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. J. J. Gelling of Greenbush M. E. Church, officiating. Interment will be made in the Union cemetery at Plymouth, beside her late husband and one son, who passed away but a boy many years back.
Mr. and Mrs. Treadwell were old pioneers of Sheboygan County.
Mrs. Esther Jones Treadwell was born August 28, 1837 in Syracuse, New York, and came with her parents to Sheboygan county in 1845, where she has since made her home. She was married to Oscar Treadwell at Plymouth, Oct. 9, 1858 and they made their home on a farm in the town of Plymouth several years and for several years on a farm in the town of Greenbush, then moved to Sheboygan, their home for seventeen years, and where Mr. Treadwell died. For the past two years, she has made her home with her son William, and grand-son George, on the farm owned by Dr. G. H. Stannard in the town of Greenbush.
Besides her three sons, Irvin of Plymouth, George of Antigo and William, she is survived by one brother, Rufus Jones of Greenbush, two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Rowe of Owen, and Miss Lydia Jones of New York City, also four grandchildren and four great-grand-children. Mrs. Treadwell was one of those sturdy, upright, kind and true women who helped to make this world brighter and better, and will be missed by a large circle of friends.
Dr. G. H. Stannard of Sheboygan, George Treadwell of Antigo, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin and Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Treadwell of Plymouth were among the friends and relatives present at the funeral.
