Oscar Treadwell, 78 years old, died yesterday morning at 1 o'clock of Gallstone combined with old age at his residence, 2416 South Seventh St. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the residence. Rev. Schissler of the First Church of Christ Scientist officiating. The remains will be taken to Plymouth at 1:30 by chartered car where they will be given a resting place in the Plymouth cemetery.
Mr. Treadwell was born in Oneida County, New York, and received his education in the public schools there. He came to the Golden West in 1855 and joined the company of pioneer settler at Sheboygan, which was then only a very small village.
He has been employed in many of the local manufacturing plants during the time the industry of Sheboygan was growing, but for several years prior to his death he had been elevator man at the Norther Furniture Co. He has been a figure in several accidents at the plant but has always managed to escape serious injury. He was well known among his fellow laborers and often entertained them during the lunch hour with glowing accounts of the progress of the middle west and of Sheboygan, and was fond of telling tales of his experiences as backwoodsman in this vicinity. His great host of friends both in the factory and all over the city were grieved to learn of his death and are extending words of comfort to the bereaved one he leaves behind.
Besides his wife, Mr. Treadwell is survived by three sons, Ervin of Plymouth, William of this city, and George of Antigo.
