Died Saturday, August 13, 2005

Talmage Marshall Hatchett, 80, of Martinsville, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

He was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Penhook to Henry T. Hatchett and Mattie Palmer Hatchett.

In addition to his parents, Hatchett also was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Grant Hatchett, and one brother, Giles Hatchett.

He served in the Navy during World War II and was retired from DuPont with 35 years of service. He was a member of Stone Memorial Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Angie M. Hatchett of the home; a daughter, Jane Inman of Martinsville; a step-daughter, Beth Trollinger of Atlanta; one son, Mark Hatchett of Martinsville; four step-sons, Tim York of Florida, Thom York and Terry York, both of Atlanta, and Jerry York of Richmond; one sister, Emmaline Scott of Richmond; two brothers, Robert Hatchett and Randolph Hatchett, both of Penhook; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services with the Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
