William J. "Bill" Fowler
Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 20, 1989, at 11 a.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson for William J. "Bill" Fowler, 52, Winona native, who died at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston, Texas.
A 1955 graduate of Winona High School, he attended George Washington University and Holmes Junior College before beginning his career with the Illinois Central Railroad in Jackson, where he served as supervisor of management services for 22 years.
Fowler was an ordained deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, where he sang in the sanctuary choir.
He was the first-vice president of the Mississippi Unit of WBCCI, an Airstream travel club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, John Steven Fowler of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a daughter, Deborah Fowler of Jackson, his mother, Hattie Fowler of Winona; a sister, Bobbie DuBard of Drew, and two grandchildren.
Conducting memorial services was Dr. Frank Pollard, pastor of First Baptist Church. Interment was in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton.
Memorials may be made to Carols by Candlelight, care of First Baptist Church of Jackson.
