Monday night witnessed the death of
Carl Southard in this village, Pollock,
South Dakota, after but a few days
sickness from influenza and pneumonia.
Deceased was a strong, healthy
young man, an athelete and wrestler
of considerable local reputation, and
apparently had a constitution that
would stand up under almost any test,
but he would not master this foe to
The body was taken to Aberdeen
Wednesday accompanied by the wife,
mother and brother.

Carl Southard, 30 years old, 4mo,
12 days, died at his home at Pollock, S.D.
yesterday afternoon, of pneumonia.
where he had been employed on a
large ranch belonging to Harry Fiddler
for the last year. He leaves a wife, father,
and mother, two brothers and one sister.
He left Aberdeen a year ago for Pollack.
While a resident of the city. Mr. Southard
was employed for four years by the
H.C. Behrens Lumber company, and
for a time worked for E. G. Anderson
while the latter was engaged in the
lumber business. He was also a
member business. With Mr. Honnegar
for some time. He was also a
member of the Aberdeen fire depart-
ment for a period of one year.
HIs wife is the daughter of Mr and
Mrs. J.W. Kincaid of this city.
The body arrived from Pollock this
afternoon and was taken to the Moore
undertaker parlors, where private funeral
services will be held Thursday morning
at 10 o'clock. Public services at 2 o'clock
in the afternoon.
Rev. G. O. Marsh pastor of the Christian
Church, will conduct the services and
interment will take place at the River-
side Cemetery. Mr. Southard's mother
and brother from Oklahoma arrived in the

Brown were married at the Method-
ist parsonage last evening at 9
o'clock by the Rev. J. W. Taylor
Both have been living in the the city
and will make their home here.
