Bernadine Louise Mowen, 75, of 10915 Clinton Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 3, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Isabell Uhler Fisher.

Her husband, William Eugene Mowen, died in 1990.

She was employed by J.J. Newberry in the credit department, Maryland Correctional Institution for five years, and Fairchild Aircraft for 20 years.

She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class.

She was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 Auxiliary, Halfway Senior Citizens and AARP.

She is survived by two sons, Michael E. Mowen of Hagerstown, and Kevin J. Mowen of Richmond, Va.; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Mowen and Carol Kridler.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis L. Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association of Maryland, 11 Columbia St., Cumberland, Md. 21502; or to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
