John Olexsovich, 72, of Valencia, died Monday, February 4, 2013, in UPMC Shadyside.

Born July 15, 1940, in Ambridge, Pa., a son of the late Matthew and Anastasia Lesak Olexsovich, he was a retired electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 712. John was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ambridge, and had served his country in the United States Navy Reserves during peacetime.

Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Musloe Olexsovich; three daughters, Vicki Lynn Jones of Harmony Township, Tris Ann Besong of Nebraska, and Melissa Ann Olexsovich of Ambridge; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Kathy) Olexsovich of Economy, and four sisters, Betty (Joe) Kostial of Baden, Kay (Ray) Freed and Stella Marie Moon, both of Economy, and Patricia Ann Smitz of Leetsdale.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three year old baby sister, Mary Ellen Olexsovich.

A private funeral service was held on Thursday in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, with Father Michael Polosky officiating. Private interment followed in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
