Lunenburg: Stuart Leland Covington, 59, of Lunenburg, formerly of Ayer, Acton and Bedford, died September 4, 2012, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston

Stuart Leland Covington lost his battle with cancer on September 4, 2012 surrounded by family, friends and his music. Stuart was larger than life itself in every sense. For almost 30 years, he was a drummer in rock & roll bands from the Epics in Jr. high school to Powerglide in Boston. When he retired from his last band, Stuart and his wife built a state of the art recording studio and established a successful contracting business. He was passionate about model trains, vintage motorcycles, cartoon characters and other goofballs like himself, such as the 3 Stooges. He was a constant comedian. Stuart filled life with joy, music and laughter. He brought a burst of positive energy into the lives of all he touched. Those who knew him were changed for the better. Stuart will be sorely missed.

He grew up in Jacksonville, FL and graduated from Lee High School in 1969. He moved to Massachusetts in 1981.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Annie Dent Covington and his brothers, Dent and David. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his sisters, Carol Covington (Frank McGrath) and Helen Covington, his aunt Margaret Dent Garrison, sister-in-law Ann Morse, brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Kit Morse and niece Miranda Morse.
