ASHTABULA — Joanne Marie Baruffa, age 74, of Lake Road West, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

She was born May 15, 1938, the daughter of John and Pearl (Haksluoto) Salo and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.

Joanne attended Harbor High School and then graduated from the former Andrews School for Girls. Joanne also loved cats and was especially known in the neighborhood for spoiling the neighbor's cat, "Vega".

Her survivors include her husband, Cecil, whom she married April 25, 1959; two sons, Michael C. (Debbie) Baruffa of Kent and Christopher J. (Lori) Baruffa of Madison; six grandchildren, Lindsay, Jeremy, Jeannie, Michelle, Hope and Eric; and five great-grandchildren, Elise, Kayla, Madeline, Jazmyne and Leila.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David; sister, Sara; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Isaac.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9th, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 933 Michigan Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, with the Rev. Larry Mackey, Pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
