KAREN D. THORNTON, age 46 of the Chestnut Hill community of Dandridge passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2012. She was born May 20, 1966 in Morristown, TN and was a life long resident of Jefferson County and was a graduate of Jefferson Co. High School. Karen was a member of the Big Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Emily Jones and Lester "Rab" and Rema Thornton; brother, Timothy Thornton. A beloved mother, daughter and sister, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Nicholas Thornton; father and mother, James "Bunton" and Valerie (Jones) Thornton; sisters and brother-in-laws, Vicki and Burnett Finchum, Kim and Steve Ivey, Lisa and Craig Matthews and Sherri and Randall Brooks; nieces and nephews, Blake and Julia Finchum and Lyla and Bella Kate, Chesney Ivey, Ben Duncan and Cade and Cole, Dylan Brooks, Cierra and Chad Pruitt; several aunts and uncles; special friend, Randy Lawson and special "sister" friend, Debbie Dockery. Funeral services were held Thursday and burial followed in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Colbert and Bro. Dustin Brooks officiating.
