Donald F. Schuebel, age 88, of Rice Lake, WI, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.
Don was born on March 26, 1924 in Boyd, WI to Andrew and Josephine Schuebel. He owned and operated a Beauty Shop in Eau Claire, WI and then entered the United States Army and served in Korea being discharged February 9, 1947. Donald was married to Dorothy Willkom on June 18, 1947. In 1959 he started Dairy Farming and then he also attended Barron County Normal Teachers College. He owned and operated the Swirl Beauty Shop and D's House of Beauty in Rice Lake for many years and retired in 2005.
Don Schuebel is survived by 8 sons, Dale Schuebel of Cameron, WI, Dean Schuebel and Dennis Schuebel both of Rice Lake, WI, Duane Schuebel of Canton, WI, Dwight Schuebel, Doug Schuebel, Donnie Schuebel, and John Schuebel all of Cameron, WI; 4 daughters, Mary Jane Jahnke of Solon, IA, Marjorie Bodenheimer of Wausau, WI, Ann Allen of Cameron, WI and Carolyn Petersen of Rice Lake, WI; 30 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Schuebel of Boyd, WI; a sister, Phyllis Burish of Chippewa Falls, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Schuebel; his parents, Andrew and Josephine Schuebel; granddaughter, Anna Schuebel; and 2 brothers, Harold and Robert Schuebel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Father James Powers officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 - 10 AM Saturday at the Church.
