He married Molly Jane Kohn Juvenal, on October 12, 1944 in LaSalle County, Texas. They have 2 children, son David, a daughter Jacquelynn Urban, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
He attended the University of Texas until seeing war coming in Europe. He applied for Pilot training in the U.S. Air Corps and worked for the City of Austin Engineering Department until called to duty in 1941. He received his wings October of 1942. He was then assigned to instruct several single pilot training classes at Mission, Texas before transferring to B24 training at Tarrant Field in Ft. Worth. On finishing this phase he was assigned to Liberal Kansas to instruct pilots to fly B24's until he was accepted for training to fly B29's.
After the war, he worked for Anderson Clayton both in the United States and Mexico.
In 1959, he joined the Mechanical Contracting firm of Boyer & Lagow.
In time he became vice-president of the new firm of J.M. Boyer, Inc. becoming president in 1966 and retiring from the Corporation in 1985.
