OBITUARY
Mrs. Leota Watson.
Lena Leota Rone, daughter of Eliza Campbell Rone, was born July 28, 1878 on a farm in the northern part of Ray county near Polo, Mo. She passed away May 24, 1934, having attained the age of 55 years, 9 months and 26 days.
On the 26th day of May, 1897, she was united in marriage with W.E. Watson and to their union 5 children were born, two having died in infancy. Those surviving are, Mrs. Basil Farr, Mrs. Charley Hunt of Polo, and Miss Eva of the home.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Polo, Mo. Throughtout her life she was a student of the Bible and endeavored always to follow its teachings in her home. She was especially fond of and derived a great deal of comfort form the 70th Psalm. She was a loving mother and devoted wife and loyal sister.
She leaves to mourn her passing, other than her husband and three daughters, four brothers; George Rone of Polo, W.D. Rone of Almond, Arkansas, Roy Rone of Cowgill, and Homer Rone of Tonganoxie, Kansas.
The funeral services were held at Bethel church. The services were conducted by Rev. James Heath of Cowgill. The church was more than filled with friends who came to mourn her passing and to a last tribute of the high esteem and respect with which she and her family were held. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery near the church.
