He was born Howard Franklin Keffer the son of Charles Henry Keffer and Rosine Golder in Lycoming County Pennsylvania. His father changed the spelling of the family name. He married Dora P. Van Houter on November 11th 1902 in Dubois Clearfield County Pennsylvania. They were the parents of Bernice L., Helen M., Anna L and Donald Clare Keefer. Howard relocated to San Diego after his wife Dora had died and he had married a widow named Elizabeth London. He was a machinist at Old Mission Olive works. Mrs. London had several daughters from a previous marriage: Lula Belle, Nora . He was my great grandfather.
