Mrs. Shirley Ruth Anderson Allen, age 74, of Moravian Falls died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 AM, February 6, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church in the Brushy Mountain Community with Rev. Richard Caudill and Rev. Chris Cave officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allen was born, April 21, 1938 in Wilkes County to Chester, Sr. and Ethel Johnson Anderson. Before retiring, she was a homemaker and worked in the food service industry. Mrs. Allen was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Caudill.
She is survived by: her husband, Marion Allen of the home; three daughters, Donna Poole and husband, John of Moravian Falls, Helen Craven and husband, Todd of Wilkesboro, April Jarvis and husband, Jason of Georgia; seven grandchildren, Robert Poole, Rodney Poole, Emily Poole, Trent Craven, Timothy Poole, Aeryn Jarvis, Edyn Jarvis; one great-grandson, Linxton Poole; four sisters, Bobbie Anderson of Wilkesboro, Cornelia Holland and husband, Charles of Tennessee, Polly Nichols and husband, Wesley of Wilkesboro, Selma Griffin and husband, Ernest of Moravian Falls; four brothers, E. C. Anderson, Jr. and wife, Mardell of Pennsylvania, James Anderson and wife, Wanda, Robert Anderson and wife, Lottie and Lee Anderson and wife, Reba all of Moravian Falls.
