JOHN PERRY, 84 Dies Sunday In Brookville
CLARION - John Zerrah Perry, 84 of 52 Payne Street, retired glass worker and former owner of a Clarion tavern, died at 10:05 p.m. Sunday in the Brookville Hospital.
Mr. Perry was born in Sharpsburg Dec. 29, 1874, a son of William and Mary Perry.
He was married in 1898 to Ethalia McCleary, deceased. He married Anna Mae Weidner March 31, 1921, who survives.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church, Clarion, and the Glass Blowers Union (GBAA).
In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sons, George and John Perry Jr. of Clarion, and Edgar Perry of Winchester, Ind.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Lutz of Clarion, a step-son, Arthur Weidner of Clarion, a brother, William Perry of Tarentum.
Other survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Schimp, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Parks, and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Rowe of Clarion. 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Goble Funeral Home, Clarion where friends may call. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Rev. Ralph W. Richardson, pastor of Clarion Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.

Rev. Ralph W. Richardson, pastor of Clarion Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
Mr. Perry died Sunday night in Brookville Hospital of a self-inflicted bullet wound in the head. Dr. R. L. Shaffer, Jefferson County coroner, issued a certificate of suicide.
Mr. Perry is survived by his widow, the former Anna Mae Weidner; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Schimp, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Parks and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Rowe of Clarion; three sons, George and John Perry, Jr. of Clarion and Edgar Perry of Winchester, Ind.
Also surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. Charles (Katherine) Lotz of Clarion; a step-son Arthur Weidner of Clarion, and a brother, William Perry of Tarentum. Sixteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren also survive.
His first wife, the former Ethalia McCleary, is deceased.
