Services for Ellen Maurice Burton, 82, of Lubbock will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Carillon's Neil Chapel with Terry Sanders officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada.

Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home of Lubbock.

She died Monday, April 2, 2001.

She was born June 23, 1918, in Brownfield. She graduated from Floydada High School and Lipperts Business College in Plainview. She moved to Lubbock from Floydada in 1978. She was deputy county clerk in Floydada and retired from Soil Conservation Service in Lubbock after 34 years. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, the Martus Circle at First United Methodist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Survivors include a brother, Lee William Burton of Lubbock; and a sister, Viola Burton Greene of Austin.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock or a favorite charity.
