Ruth Branning Molloy, 92, a writer whose work was published in area newspapers and national magazines, died Friday of heart failure at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
A resident of University City, Mrs. Molloy was interested in the history of her neighborhood. She spent years gathering photographs and doing research for a multi-volume history of West Philadelphia, which she worked on until her death.
A writer who also took photos, she also had an affinity for the eccentric and whimsical.
There is also a Memorial Monument for the Family at Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan, Monmouth County, New Jersey, many of the Pearce ancestors are buried there.
