SFC (ret) U.S.Army. Retired from the Army with over 20years service. Veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Leonard was stationed in various places, including Germany, Belgium, Korea, Japan, and India. After retiring from the Army, Leonard worked as a Systems Analyst at Fort Lee Virginia for another 20 years. He was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

He grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, the youngest son of the late Frank M De Prisco and Elsie May (Heisler) De Prisco of Wilmington. Brother of Charles N. De Prisco, Alfred D. De Prisco, Margaret (DePrisco) Evans, Frank M. De Prisco, Catherine, and John C DePrisco.

He was the loving husband of Helen (Curran) DePrisco (he died less than a month before they would have celebrated their 40th anniversary). They were married in May, 1956, Helen is the daughter of Francis M Curran and Nellie (McHugh) Curran. Leonard was the devoted father of Leonard, Anne, and Alfred, and cherished grandfather of 10 (Samantha, Leonard(Tony), Andrew, Mary(Molly), Helen(Beth), Emma, Alex, Joseph, Kathleen, and Shelby). He was preceeded in death by two daughters: Mary Ellen De Prisco (born/died 1959) and Helen De Prisco (born/died 1962).

I am always thankful that my Dad had 10 years of retirement to enjoy before his death. His happiest times during those years were spent with family, and on vacations with Mom. His other great passion, aside from his grandchildren, was carpentry. For as long as I can remember, he loved to build. First, it was pieces of furniture, then entire room additions to the house. My brothers and I learned a lot from him and I can tell you that I am comfortable weilding a hammer when necessary..lol

Dad died 29 Apr 1996 in Hopewell, Virginia, after a 4 year battle with cancer.

Funeral was held at Our Lady of Fatima Chapel in Richmond Va, May 2, and burial, with military honors, at Delaware Veterans cemetery, May 3, 1996.

He was a dear friend to many, devoted to his Church, his family, and this Nation. His wife, children, grandchildren and other relatives mourn his loss...we miss him so very much...

**note: Thank you so much to Attilio Angelone for sponsoring this memorial. It means so much to our family, God Bless you and your family.
