Obituary Notes:

Death of an 1812 Soldier

Abram Pickard, father of Daniel and Benjamin Pickard of West Sparta, died at his residence near Byersville and was buried from the Methodist church on Sunday. Rev. B. A. Partridge preaching. Mr. Pickard was a man eighty-four year old and a veteran of the war of 1812. On the fourth inst. he went to Esquire Dake's office and made out his pension Papers and had just seated himself in his buggy to return borne when an accident occurred which caused one of the horses to jump one side, overturning the buggy and throwing Mr. Pickard out. He struck very heavily on his face from the effects of which he did not recover. Mr. Pickard had been a resident of West Sparta over fifty years and a member of the Methodist church at Byersville for forty years. We are indebted to Daniel Farr for the above particulars

Lurinda Pickard born on 16 Aug 1829. She died on 10 May 1899 in Nunda, New York. She married Warren E. Merchant in Nunda

Lucinda Pickard born in 1831 in New York State. She died before 02 Jan 1879. She married William Stapleton

Mary Cameron Pickard born on 11 Apr 1833 in Sparta, New York. She died on 01 Dec 1854 in Byersville Livingston County New York, USA (Aged 21 yrs 9 mos 3 10ds.
