GRONEFELD, DOROTHY M. "DOTTIE," 71, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at her home.
She was the former Dorothy Redwitz, a native of Louisville. She was the owner and seamstress of Sew Far Sew Good and had been a former seamstress at Bacon's. She was a member of Cathedral of the Assumption and Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Dottie was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Penny Gronefeld; her parents, Paul and Clara Henneberger Redwitz; her brothers, Charles Nickels, Harry Redwitz and Butch Redwitz.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ralph G. Gronefeld, Sr.; her children, Ralph G. Gronefeld, Jr. (Linda), Susan Glasscock (Bill), Theresa Fritsch (David), Patty Abell (Roger), Cathy Derringer (Tom), Julie Wilson (Barry), Joseph Gronefeld, Danny Gronefeld (Rebecca) and Dana Coulter (Mike); a brother, Robert Redwitz (Jan); 28 grandchildren; as well as two great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 S. Fifth Street, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. both Thursday and Friday at Ratterman & Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road.
