Veteran of World War II. Served in Company K, 144th Infantry, 36th Infantry as a Second Lieutenant. In 1942 he was assigned to the 103rd Infantry Division and commanded a Fifle Company in Souther France, Germany and into Austria. During the Korean Conflict, Colonel Craddock served with the 24th Infantry as Operations Officer and later as a Battalion Commander.
Served in three World War II campaigns and two Korean campaigns. Recipient of the Combat Infantryman's Badge with star (2), legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star with "V" dvice and two oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Republic of Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
