Virgil married Sarah L. Daniels on 27 January 1904 in Wood County, and they had Clifford. He was the son of James and Martha Heckathorn Daniels of England and Ohio with siblings: Esther, Harry, Lambert, Alice, Willard, and Mae. Virgil was in the hardware business and then was a veterinarian. He died of Edema of the Larynx at the age of 43.
