83, passed away February 6, 2014. Mr. Avery was the former owner of Avery & Sons Home Improvements, a member of Lucy Baptist Church, and a US Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8 from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. at the Millington Chapel with interment to follow at Big Creek Cemetery. The widower of Edna Rose Avery and Sara Sparks Burkett Avery; he was also predeceased by a sister, Willie Mae Cook and a brother, Charles O. Avery. He leaves his sons, Kenneth (Ramona) Avery and Keith (Cindy) Avery; stepdaughter, Rita (Doug) Stewart; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
