Mr. Michael C. Ford passed away at his home near Amiret Friday April 30, at 7:20 P.M. after an illness of 5 days with influenza. He was 83 years old. He was born in Elfinn Ireland, Spetember 29th, 1843. He came to this country at the age of 5 years old, with his parents, and settled in Newark, N.J. In 1855 the family moved to Montello, Wisconsin, where he grew to young manhood. He was married to Sarah McGovern at Fox Lake, Wisconsin, August 31st, 1864, where they made their home for ten years. In 1874 they moved to Janesville, Minnesota, and made their home at that place for 17 years, and in 1891 they came to Lyon County, locating near Amiret, where they have since resided. Mrs. Ford preceded him in death 4 years ago.

Mr. Ford was the father of 11 children, three of whom died before him.

There remain to mourn the loss of a loving father, two daughers and six sons, William, Charles, Henry, Edward, and Mary of Amiret; Michael of Red Lake Falls, Minn., Thomas of Yankton, S. Dak., and Mrs. Edward Daley of Marshall, Minn., all of whom were present at the funeral.

Other survivors are: Mrs. Thomas McGovern of Bird Island, Minn., and Mrs. Egan of Portage, Wisconsin, sisters of the deceased. Other relatives who were in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. Thomas McGovern and son Michael of Bird Island, Minn., John McGovern of Redwood Falls, Minn., Michael Flynn and sister Mrs. Leo Frodle of Janesville, Minn, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Flynn of Slayton, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ford, and Thomas Ford of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mr. Ray Ford of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Funeral Services were held from the Holy Redeemer Catholic church in Marshall, at ten o'clock Monday morning. Requiem high mass being conducted by the Rev. Fr. Carlin who spoke confortingly of the exemplary life and the beautiful and home loving traits of the character possesed by the deceased.

The remains were laid at rest in the Marshall Calvary cemetery.

The bereaved family has the sympathy of the community.
