Moses Sweeney

S/O Charles Sweeney & Ann Wythe
He came to Lincoln County in 1787 & bought land an built a log cabin to raise his 15 children with his wife Elizabeth Johnson. They married in Virginia. He was also a Private for 6th Virginia Regiment / Revolutionary War in Warren County, Ky. Elizabeth Johnson was a cousin to Vice President Richard Mentor Johnson, he was vice President to President Martin Van Buren during the years 1837-1841, James Madison was President of the United States when Moses Sweeney died. Moses was the first Sweeney family in Lincoln County.
