Obit: Pella Chronicle--Relatives in Pella received word this week of the death on Wednesday, June 2, 1920, of Herman F. Bousquet at the National Soldiers Home at Leavenworth, Kansas, at the age of 78 years. Mr.Bousquet was long a prominent business man in Pella, engaged in the hardware business. Mr. Bousquet was a soldier in the civil war, a member of Co. B. 3rd Iowa Infantry. At the time of his death he was the oldest alumnus of Central College. His last visit to Pella was at commencement time just a year ago, when he spent a month renewing acquaintances at the college and in town, greatly enjoying his visit. Since discontinuing his business in Pella, a considerable part of his time has been spent in Soldiers Homes, although he spent several winters traveling in the south. His wife died some years ago. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. One of the sons, Arthur, lives at Kansas City and was with his father in his last illness. One daughter, Mrs. C. D. Woods, lives at Alpine, Texas, and another, Miss Bess Bousquet is now traveling in the Orient. J. J. Bousquet of Pella is a brother. The time of the funeral will depend upon Mrs. Wood's arrival, and at the time it can only be said that burial will be at Pella.
