John Bailey, 82, 624 S. Montgomery, died early today at Albany General Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Fisher Funeral Home. Burial is to be at Palestine Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 28, 1886 in Lee County, Va., moved to Texas as a child and came to the Albany area in 1889 to remain for the rest of his life. He farmed in Benton
He joined the North Palestine Baptist Church when a young man and later became a member of the Albany Christian Church. He was also a member of the North
Palestine Cemetery Association board.
Surviving are his widow, Mamie, who he married Dec. 22, 1923; a son, Earl L. of Marysville, Wash.; brother, Charles E. of San Fernardino, Calif.; sister, Mrs.
Pearl Saltmarsh of Albany; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Virginia, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for John A. Bailey, 82, of 624 S. Montgomery St., Albany, who died Sept. 15, will be held at the Fisher Funeral Home 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Wayne Bryant and Rev. J. Franklin Dodson officiating. Concluding services will be held at the Palestine Cemetery.
