James Michael Roenitz, 62, died Saturday, June 9, 2001 at Froedtert Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin following a brief illness.
Jim was born December 19, 1938 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Josephine Knauf Roenitz and the late James George Roenitz.
He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1957. Jim continued his education at Georgetown University and the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. In 1974 he graduated from Lakeland College, furthering his education at Harvard School of Business in 1979.
On August 24, 1963 he married Barbara Vandiver in Milwaukee.
Jim began his business career with the Kohler Co. in 1963. After 25 years, he accepted the position of President of Masters Gallery in Plymouth, retiring in March of 2001 from Bemis Manufacturing, where he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He continued on his role as consultant with the Landmark Group.
A member of St. Fridolin Parish in Glenbulah, Sheboygan Yacht Club and the Economics Club, Jim was an avid sportsman, gardener and enjoyed all aspects of the culinary arts. Throughout his life, Jim was both a board member and active fund raiser for many community organizations.
In addition to his wife Barbara and mother, Josephine, Jim is survived by five children, Catherine (Ryan) Little, Claudia (Gordon) Montgomery, Laura Roenitz, Jennifer (Ken) Brech and Claire Roenitz; eight grandchildren, Greyling, Ellise, Matilda, Calvin, Ethan, Katelyn, Nathan, Maggie; brother, Robert (Joni) Roenitz; sisters, JoEllen (Jacob) Gerend, Katherine (Robert) Chesebro, Christine Roenitz and Ruth Roenitz; and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James, his brother Tom and infant sister, Margaret Roenitz.
