Immigrated from Ireland to the US in 1756 with his father and three brothers. His brother Nathaniel and his father went on to settled in Londonderry, NH and he and his two other brothers remained in Carlisle. His mother died in Northern Ireland before the family came to PA.
Andrew married Jane Graham, 30 Oct 1760. They had 9 known children.
In 1762 he became the owner of 150 acres of land.
Commanded a company of rangers during the Revolutionary War. He served as private in Capt. William Moore's Cumberland County, Pennsylvania militia.
