Everett ""Gene"" Eugene Boyd

Everett Eugene "Gene" Boyd of Big Flat, AR and recently of Marshall, AR passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the age of 92. He was born October 9, 1917 to Elmer and Mary (Bell) Boyd.
"Gene" loved the Ozarks and especially the Buffalo River along with the coonhunting and fishing it provided for him. His love of the outdoors is evident in a book written by his brother, Ben Boyd titled "Jake the Woodsman."
His parents preceded Everett Eugene "Gene" Boyd in death along with his wife of 57 years, Erma (Rose) Boyd, five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his six children, James Boyd and wife Opal of Cleveland, OK, Jack Boyd and wife Madelyn of White Sands, NM, Anita Boyd Collins and husband David of Cleveland, OK, Dale Boyd and wife Judy of Mannford, OK, Paul Boyd and wife Andrea of Big Flat, AR and Mike Boyd and wife Laura of Big Flat, AR. "Gene leaves behind eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. One brother, Ben Boyd and wife Corine of Leslie, AR, also survive him. A host of nieces and nephews will mourn his passing.
Cremation will be under the direction of Roller-Coffman Funeral Home and burial will be private.
