Miss Helen Nora Kiebler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kiebler, 305 North Ninth street, died Friday evening of a complication of diseases. She was 19 years old and a senior of the high school.
She was born in Brainerd and widely known because of her musical talent. She studied vocal with Mrs. H. Campbell Ledward, of the Northwester Conservatory of Music and gave rare promise of becoming a finished singer and musician. She sang at the Knights of Columbus entertainments and many other functions. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Catholic church, sang in the choir and was a member of the Sodality. She was to have been the soloist at the next concert of the Brainerd Symphony orchestra. She was a student member of the Brainerd Musical club.
She was taken sick last Wednesday and all efforts of physicians and nurses were of no avail. The death comes with particular sadness to the household of Mr. and Mrs. Kiebler. Five years ago they lost their son, Joseph, aged 15. But one daughter now remains in the home, Miss Geraldine.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from St. Francis Catholic church.. Rev. Father J. J. O'Mahoney officiating.
To the sorrowing family is extended the sympathy of the community. (Brainerd Daily Dispatch, 10 November 1917, p. 5, c. 1)
