BURNS, William Lerch - September 22, 1910 - On Saturday, September 10, 1910, William Lerch Burns died at his home near Sligo, Pa., of appendicitis.

He was born in the same vicinity June 17, 1872 and was 38 years 2 months and 24 days old. Mr. Burns was one of a family of 9 children, 8 boys and one girl and the first to depart.

The saddest feature is the fact that he leaves a widow and four children and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Burns of Sligo, to survive him.

Mr. Burns had been called upon to endure much suffering. Throught it all he was very patient and uncomplaining. He expressed his faith in God and was ready to meet death.

He was a kind husband and loving father. He will be sadly missed by his many relatives and a host of friends.

In absence of his pastor, Rev. Smallenberger at conference, the funeral service was conducted by Rev. A. M. Himes of Lamartine. The body was laid to rest at the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Cemetery.
