Lynwood F. Miller, 76, of Coldwater, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at his home.
A memorial service for Lynwood will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating. Private interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Lynwood was born October 26, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan to Harley Ford and Alice Marie (Shaw) Miller. He married Doris Partridge on June 29, 1962; she preceded him in death in 1982. He then married Sandi J. (Chatfield) Frick on May 14, 1998, she survives.
Lynwood grew up in Jackson, working on his father's farm and graduated from Stockbridge High School. He served honorably in United States Marine Corps. He has lived in Coldwater since 1968, was a member of Lockwood Community Church and the Coldwater Elks Lodge. Lynwood was probably best known for his career as a Conservation Officer in Branch County for 28 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, playing baseball and fast pitch softball. Lynwood was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
In addition to his wife Sandi, Lynwood is survived by his children Jill Miller of South Bend, IN, Glenn (Chalice) Miller of Texas, Vicki Miller of Milwaukee, WI, Todd (Amy) Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN, Paul (Kristie) Miller of Cement City, step-children Troy Frick and Kami (Dean) Gilbert both of Coldwater, sisters Veva Aseltine of Aurora, CO, Millie (Ira) Petry of Columbus, OH, Janet (Chuck) Montague of Eckerman, JoAnn (Bill) Rose of Stockbridge, grandchildren Shaylee, Elizabeth, Samuel, Sara, Michael, Daniel, Rebekah, Josiah, Aliyah, Sean, step-grandchildren Ryan, Phil, Shelby and Abby and special friends Trent (Kathy) King of Coldwater.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Lynwood Jr., in 1963, grandson Matthew Miller in 1995 and infant sister Marian Miller in 1932.
